Cheadle and Gatley Film Makers provides a valuable forum for people who are interested in making their own films.

A strong weekly programme features talks, demonstrations, discussions and film shows for members using video or cine at any level.

The Club was founded in 1960 and is known throughout the North West as a friendly talented group with a vast core of experience, prepared to laugh at itself yet always eager to improve, pass on experiences and accept new methods and technologies.

The event was to celebrate the Centenary of the Lumiere Brothers first public film in 1895 "A Snowball Fight in a Paris Street". The event was put on to encourage people to make their own movies.





Below; Club members on a recent visit to the Lancastrian Theatre Organ Trusts Heritage Centre at Peel Green Eccles. The centre takes you back to the days of Silent Movies.

The club meets on Thursday nights, September-May, at Heald Green Village Hall,
SK8 3JL, close to the A34 and Manchester airport.
